Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 cups basmati rice


  • 1 nos beetroot finely chopped


  • 1/4 cups green peas


  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste


  • 1 nos onion,finely chopped


  • 1 nos green chili,chopped


  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 1/2 cups water


  • 1 tsp coriander leaves,chopped


  • 1/2 tsp salt or as per the taste


  • 1 tsp oil


  • 1 tsp ghee


  • 2 nos cloves


  • 1 inch ciannamon stick


  • 2 nos cardamoms


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

Directions

  • in a pressure cooker heat oil and ghee
  • add cinamon, cloves, cardamoms and cumin seeds
  • let it splutter then add ginger garlic paste, onion and green chilli
  • fry till raw smell goes
  • then add garam masala powder and turmeric powder and fry for a minute
  • add beetroot and peas and saute for 2 minutes
  • add salt and soaked rice (wash and soak rice for 15 minutes then drain the water) and give a quick saute till the masalas are nicely coated with the rice
  • add water and close the lid
  • pressure cook for 2 whistles
  • switch off the gas
  • once pressure releases open the lid and transfer the pulav into a serving bowl
  • garnish with coriander leaves and serve with raita
